Awais has expertise in handling complex commercial litigation and has over the years developed a multifaceted practice. From playing a leading role in sensitive tax litigation involving questions of constitutional and statutory interpretation to securing a major clients interest in the power sector within the challenging jurisdiction of Karachi, he has time and again successfully confronted legal disputes to the benefit of his clients.

He, over the years, has established a multi-jurisdictional reach and has worked in conjunction with leading law practitioners in numerous jurisdictions to secure his clients’ interests.

Awais commenced his legal practice in Pakistan with Khalid Anwer & Co where he received his initial training and thereafter moved onto becoming an essential part of the firm, working almost exclusively in conjunction with the managing partner of the firm. He serviced several blue chip clients and as such gained crucial experience, in dealing with and delivering for, key patrons of the firm.

He routinely appears before the Sindh and Islamabad High Court in matters pertaining to Energy Projects/Tariff Disputes, Tax disputes, Real State, Mergers & Acquisitions, Labour, Competition Law, Banking, Securities/Capital Markets, Administrative and Constitutional Law. He has also been involved in NAB litigation in select matters and has successfully managed to secure a positive outcome for his Clients in a very disconcerting environment.

He regularly undertakes corporate advisory work and enjoys a very good rapport with his clients. He has swiftly developed a reputation to provide clients with time efficient and creative legal remedies.
