Awais commenced his legal practice in Pakistan with Khalid Anwer & Co where he received his initial training and thereafter moved onto becoming an essential part of the firm, working almost exclusively in conjunction with the managing partner of the firm. He serviced several blue chip clients and as such gained crucial experience, in dealing with and delivering for, key patrons of the firm.

He routinely appears before the Sindh and Islamabad High Court in matters pertaining to Energy Projects/Tariff Disputes, Tax disputes, Real State, Mergers & Acquisitions, Labour, Competition Law, Banking, Securities/Capital Markets, Administrative and Constitutional Law.
